akshay oberoi, met gala, cannes,

Akshay Oberoi is currently basking in the positive reviews he has received for his role as Basheer ‘Bash’ Khan in Fighter. Ahead of the series release, Akshay Oberoi got in a candid chat with Bollywood Bubble and spoke about how influencers dress weirdly at Met Gala and Cannes to become talk of the town.

Akshay Oberoi on Met Gala and Cannes looks given importance over acting

While talking to Akshay, we asked him about influencers getting undue importance over talented actors. He says, “People talk a lot about how influencers get opportunity but do they really know how to act? Acting is a craft that takes years of study and experience to face the camera. But wo doodh ka doodh aur pani ka pani hojata hai as soon as someone like them starts acting. At the end of the day, my hope is that people start talking about acting and less about the MET Gala or Cannes look so that you can actually start giving audience a better performance. They are paying to see a certain performance and the more we walk away from this and talk about external appearance, we cannot connect with the audience like we used too.”

He further added, “I saw some footages from 1996 Oscars awards ceremony. You look at everybody in that, sabke baal (everyone’s hair) looks like they have just walked out of bed. Back then everybody is wearing like a black suit and tie. People nowadays are wearing fancy and weird stuff like a towel or anything just to grab attention. Anyways, the dialogue should go back to focusing on acting.”

On the work front, Akshay will next be seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The film backed by Karan Johar stars Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan.
